About SWYH

A small project with a long history

Stream What You Hear started in 2012 as a personal project by Sébastien Warin to solve a simple problem: send the audio playing on a Windows PC to a network audio device.

The first public release arrived later that year. In 2015, SWYH became open source and continued to evolve with contributions from its community.

After more than a decade, nearly two million downloads and six years without a major release, the project was rebuilt in 2026 as SWYH 2 — with .NET 10, a redesigned interface and a modernized architecture.
